I'm Rachel Robinson - but I've been known as 'Mogg' since I was 5 years old. I'm a jewellery designer
and goldsmith, working from a private studio on the little Mediterranean Island of Gozo in Malta.
I am licensed for hallmarking with the Consul of Goldsmiths and Silversmiths in Vallettta, Malta.
I have a degree in 3D Design Crafts, specialising in metalcrafts and jewellery design. I also have a MSc Econ in International Development - but that's a long story!
I worked on education and visitor attraction projects with museums, galleries, and creative organisations across the UK for 14 years before a move to Gozo in 2008 saw me return to full time jewellery making.
I established the small studio shop 'Prickly Pear' in 2011 to sell my own work and to promote other local designer-makers. The shop won 'Malta Craft Retailer of the Year' and became a firm favourite with shoppers and visitors to Gozo. In 2017 I moved to a home workshop in order to use some different equipment and techniques and work with less interuptions!
You can purchase my work via:
* Making an appointment to visit my home studio in Victoria, Gozo.
(or call in if you see the sign outside and the blue door is open!)
* Emailing me - its usually possible for me to post to you in your home country!
Please note: It would be a full time job to photograph all of my pieces and keep a web shop updated -
it would leave no time for designing and making!
Many of the pieces you see on the website were made for customers or exhibition and are already sold.
But if you see something you would like for yourself - please do get in touch to discuss me making another!
To see pieces which are finished and available for sale,
please join my facebook page as I tend to show them there first!
