Jewellery Designer and Goldsmith

Hi!  I'm Rachel, but I've had the nickname Mogg since I was five years  old.  I live in on the small island of Gozo in Malta, in the Mediterranean, and spend my days sawing, filing, soldering, shaping and polishing silver, and adding gold and gemstones to create unique pieces of jewellery.

I trained as a jewellery designer and metalsmith, and then worked in museum and gallery education in the UK for 14 years before a move to Gozo in 2008 saw me return to making again, first in my own small shop, and now from a home studio.  You'll sometimes see the studio and my cat 'assistant' feature in my instagram posts.

I'm truly terrible at making lots and lots of the same thing, as I'm very influenced by the materials that I find, and I like to adapt my ideas with each make to keep it interesting.   All of my pieces are handmade by me (no mass casting or bought pieces) so each one is different, and many are one off designs.  It makes it impossible to keep a stock of all my designs in every size and colour - but I'm always happy to hear from you and discuss making something just for you!
