Own a piece of Mogg Robinson jewellery?  Here's how to keep it looking its best.....

Preventing Damage:

Silver tarnishes (goes grey or even black) when it comes into contact with sulphur.  As there is sulphur in many cosmetics, hair gels, and skin and sun creams etc. try to get into the habit of doing your hair and make up and then washing your hands before putting on any jewellery.  It really will help keep all types of jewellery cleaner for longer!  Avoid wearing jewellery in hot tubs and spas where chlorine levels are high.

Cleaning:

In general, for my pieces without gemstones or fabric, I advise cleaning by immersing in a silver dip product for 20-30 seconds, rinsing under a tap, and then leaving to air dry.

Cuff Bangles:  I advise a regular rub with a silver polish cloth to keep a shine.

Fossil Pendants: These are made of solid silver, but the gold detailing is a light plating which will come off if it's rubbed.  I recommend these are dip cleaned whilst the gold is in place.  If you've touched it a lot and the gold has gone - don't worry - they originally started off as a 'pocket pebble' idea and are designed to be tactile!  Keep touching it and switch to using a polishing cloth and the details of your fossil will darken over time to become silver and black.
